First Recipient of the Live Free Be Strong Founder’s Award

Dave Vincent, Founder of LIVE FREE BE STRONG congratulates Jacqueline Faerman of Fort Lauderdale High School on her Exceptional Leadership Achievement for 2012-2013. Jacqueline accomplished this achievement by not just talking action with her peers but by making changes in her community. When she was a freshman, Jacqueline took a leap forward and helped “United Students for the Arts,” a program to protest against Broward County budgets cuts towards the performing arts. As a high school junior, Jacqueline co-founded the Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) where she joined the LIVE FREE BE STRONG Campaign to end bullying. Her senior year she took on the role of President of this club at the Fort Lauderdale High School. Jacqueline’s GSA and LFBS programs donated school supplies to Northside Elementary School, participated in the “Kick Out Bullying” soccer game, and created a PSA for the “Trigger Proof Steps.” Jacqueline helped bring awareness to her campus and community about the fight against bullying in many endless events and ways. She will be attending Florida State University where she plans to continue her work with the LFBS Foundation. Jacqueline is the first recipient of the LIVE FREE BE STRONG Founder’s Award (with a $1,000 scholarship), for her outstanding work as a true activist and leader.
